Let’s look at the weekend reports for bass fishing. Top water bite has kicked in with the cooler and just a little rain. Lake came up around 4” no not feet we are talking inches! Good job weather man! So look for vegetation, shad and you will find bass in shallow water with deeper water close by. This is the key. Small swim baits in Shad colors around the vegetation is working along with small Texas rig or shakey head with air tail rattlesnake. Plum colors still working! Later in the day 8-10 inch worms on main lake points or the deeper diving crank baits around standing isolated timber, like a long fence row in deeper water. Also crank the damn area. Another fishing report but this time it’s for the crappie guys! Catch crappie this weekend suspended in 16 ft of water in 22-24 ft. Minnows were catching a lot along with Bobby Garland baits that look like a shad and hand tied jigs by Pauling in blue/grey ghost.
